Tim Berners Lee was born in London in 1955. He is a computer programmer who wrote the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and also made a scheme for locating documents. Berners Lee made the World Wide Web browser. He is a senior research scientist at MIT and was the first holder of the 3Com Founders Chair.
